Summary
The main goal of this project is to develop and explore an integrated approach to the design of smart and sustainable packaging that brings together modern digital technologies, design aspects, and optimized printing processes. Through the implementation of NFC and QR technologies, the project aims to transform packaging into an interactive communication channel between manufacturers and consumers, enabling access to information about the product, its origin and sustainability, as well as additional content that strengthens brand engagement, such as recipes, video instructions, or loyalty programs. A special focus is placed on the accessibility and acceptance of these technologies among end users, as well as their level of digital literacy. On the other hand, by examining the influence of design aspects and analyzing how visual and functional elements of packaging—including colors—affect purchasing decisions, the project seeks to determine how sustainability and the aesthetic appeal of packaging can be aligned with consumer needs. Finally, the project includes the optimization of printing processes through the analysis of print parameters, the use of environmentally friendly materials, and the implementation of ISO 12647 standards, with the aim of improving the quality of graphic reproduction and reducing resource consumption and waste. This holistic approach enables a comprehensive understanding of how design, technology, and production processes together shape consumer perception and contribute to the long-term success of products on the market and the sustainability of packaging across different industries.
